![]() ![]() ![]() That's what his voice in the mission itself would indicate, but once you find his bones, that theory seems out the window. The Praedyth's Door card seems to imply that Praedyth may still be alive, lost in time. The implication is that at some point in the future, humanity loses the war and has to flee Earth entirely to regroup. Finally, in what's perhaps the most significant Grimoire card in Destiny history, he sees a future where humanity has been reduced to a mobile fleet, with ships bearing the banners of the Vanguard and the factions, each with a piece of the destroyed Tower and Last City on board. Next, he stumbles into a heated battle between the Vex and the Exo, with an implication that perhaps the Exo were created to fight the robotic Vex threat. First, he travels to an age where it seems like the Fallen were a peaceful race and first meeting the Traveler. The first three Vault of Glass cards seem to be from the perspective of a Ghost floating through time. If these hadn't already been published online, I'd say this secret would be worthwhile just for the value it adds to the lore alone. Update: I'd actually read these Grimoire cards before, but they're some of the most interesting ones added in the expansion. The Fight For The Future Of Video Games is a warts-and-all look at the clashes between the video game business and its passionate fans. But if this is all this is, I'm not really sure why it was necessary to tie it into the daily Heroic (though I'm not really a fan of time-gated secrets in general, including the Black Spindle's Heroic rotation).Ī million people will be trying to extract the finer points of this mystery all day today, so stay tuned and I’ll report back if there’s anything new to be found, or any next steps to take. So far, there’s nothing to indicate that’s the case, however. It’s certainly not nearly as difficult to complete as the Black Spindle mini-mission, so I wasn’t exactly expecting an exotic to pop out at the end, but it would be cool if it were part of something larger. Nowhere in this process does a new mission or questline actually start, so I’m wondering if this mystery might actually just be a bit of lore with no other significance attached. But do not scan Praedyth’s body, as that’s the trigger to end the mission completely, and you’ll have to start over. Also, it seems as if the third Ghost won’t appear until you kill the final boss of the mission. I think you can die in a “non-darkness” zone and still continue on, but you just can’t wipe. The trick here is that this is a somewhat difficult Heroic mission and you can’t wipe or else it resets your progress with the Ghosts. But if they remain silent, it seems likely there’s more yet to be discovered. If the boss battle and Grimoire cards and faction rep are truly everything involved in this secret, it's possible Bungie will tell us to prevent a fruitless search for more answers. Just yesterday, Bungie confirmed that the secret room recently found in the Raid was nothing more than “Oryx’s basketball court,” and simply built as a fun easter egg. ![]() It is indeed possible that perhaps completion of this secret is required to trigger some future quest, but as we’ve recently learned in Destiny, not every mystery has a complex multi-stage answer to it. So far, this has been a bit disappointing to those who were hoping that this was part of some larger quest, perhaps to find the exotic pulse rifle No Time to Explain, which remains hidden in the game somewhere. But other than that, nothing else happens. Right now, you find the three lost Ghosts in hidden areas of the Vault, and after the boss battle, you receive a physical ghost you turn into the Future War Cult leader in exchange for some faction reputation. What’s unclear now is that if this Heroic secret unlocks anything else, or if the four Grimoire cards you get are the totality of the mystery itself.
